BROCKS GAP DMR MATCH RULES

Welcome to the DMR Match Series at Brock’s Gap Training Center. This will be a Time Plus style scored 4 match series that is hosted quarterly including a series finale. Expect to shoot your rifle out to 600+ yards and pistol out to 100 yards. We encourage all shooters to come and compete in the match. If you are brand new to this type of shooting, let the match director and squad leaders know so that we can help you be the best you can be. 

  • Round count is approximately 150 rounds of both rifle and pistol. 
  • Sign in begins at 10:30, safety briefing at 10:45, match begins at 11:00.
  • Match fee is waived if you help set up before the match. 

Divisions:

LR (Light Rifle): 

  • Action Type: Any
  • Caliber: 5.56x45mm NATO/.223. Projectile must not exceed 178gr in weight or exceed a muzzle velocity of 3100 FPS. No armor penetrating, incendiary, or tracer rounds allowed.
  • Barrel Length: Any
  • Optic: Any

HR (Heavy Rifle)

  • Action Type: Any
  • Caliber: Any. Projectile must not exceed 178gr in weight or exceed a muzzle velocity of 3100 FPS. No armor penetrating, incendiary, or tracer rounds allowed
  • Barrel Length: Any
  • Optic: Any

In both divisions, the rifle must have a sling attached. The rifle may have whatever attachments the competitor desires (bipod, flashlight, suppressor, WMLRF, etc). 

Pistol (all divisions)

  • Any pistol is allowed. 
  • Holster must be capable of securing pistol during strenuous movement. 
  • It is highly recommended to use a locking or tightly friction fit holster for your pistol. If the pistol unintentionally comes out of the holster at any time, the competitor will be immediately disqualified.

    Support Gear & Accessories
    Any external shooting support accessories, such as a bag, tripod, etc. may be used by either division and must be deployed on the clock unless otherwise outlined in the stage brief. Bipods, Support Bags, and other Accessories must remain unchanged and be carried on person via (pack/ belt/ lanyard/pouch) or mounted to rifle by the contestant on all stages of the match even if the equipment is not deployed on each particular stage. The configuration that the rifle and support equipment and ammo loadout  is used on stage 1 must remain the same for all stages. Support gear cannot be pre staged or pre deployed if it not attached to the rifle and must not be “left behind” or “temporarily dropped” before or during a stage. Rifles stored in rack, shooter must wear/carry all mags, ammo, snacks, water, shooting aids, binos, widgets, on person at all times during the match.

Waitlist: If the match has filled up and you are on the waitlist, plan on shooting the match.  A few days before the match, we will make final adjustments to best accommodate everybody that wants to shoot.
